All licensed HUH nurses who demonstrate extraordinary, compassionate care are eligible to be nominated to receive a DAISY Award.

5. Where Is It Celebrated?

The DAISY Award is celebrated in over 5,000 healthcare facilities and schools of nursing, across 31 countries.

6. How Can I Nominate Someone?

If you are a patient, family member, physician, fellow nurse or staff member, you are allowed to nominate a deserving nurse by completing an HUH DAISY Award Online Nomination Form. Letters and emails to the DAISY Award Committee will also be considered.

7. Who Chooses The Winner?

The Howard University Hospital DAISY Award Committee will select each winner.

8. Who Can Be Apart Of The Celebration?

Any HUH leadership, directors, managers, supervisors, administration, peers, or team members as well as the nominee may be a part of the celebration.

9. When Will The Winner Be Announced?

The Howard University Hospital DAISY Award winner will be announced on Thursday, May 8, 2025, during Nurses Week.

10. How Often Is the DAISY Award Celebrated?

The Howard University Hospital DAISY Award is celebrated on a quarterly basis.
